In a powerful demonstration of compassion and social responsibility, St. Philip Neri School in Joska proudly participated in the recent #SisiKwaSisi Charity Walk, led by celebrated comedian and philanthropist Eric Omondi. The event, aimed at mobilising resources for a transformative Rescue Centre, saw our school community step forward in both action and generosity, embodying our core values of service and empathy.

A Safe, Supervised March for a Cause
Represented by a selected group of learners and teachers, our delegation joined thousands of Kenyans in a walk of solidarity. The utmost priority was the safety and well-being of our students. Their participation was carefully supervised and structured, ensuring a secure, positive, and memorable experience focused on the spirit of giving. Following their meaningful contribution to the walk, all learners safely returned to school, carrying with them the pride of having been part of a national movement for change.
A Foundation for the Future: Our Material Contribution
Understanding that true support requires tangible action, St. Philip Neri School made a significant material donation to the #SisiKwaSisi initiative. We contributed 100 bags of cement, providing the literal foundation for the proposed Rescue Centre. This centre is envisioned to be a beacon of hope, featuring:
- A fully equipped medical facility
- Ambulance services for emergency response
- A free secondary school for underprivileged children
Our donation of cement is a direct investment in building these essential structures, ensuring that the vision for a healthier, more educated community becomes a reality.
A Pledge for Continued Support: Empowering Young Minds
Our commitment extends beyond the groundbreaking phase. St. Philip Neri School has pledged to further support the educational arm of the Rescue Centre by contributing free exercise books once the free secondary school is operational. This pledge underscores our belief in empowering young minds through education and ensuring that lack of materials is never a barrier to learning.
Walking Our Talk: Holistic Education in Action
This initiative is a living example of the holistic education we champion at St. Philip Neri School. We believe education extends beyond classroom walls, teaching our students the profound importance of:
- Community Service: Actively contributing to the welfare of society.
- Compassionate Leadership: Using one’s position and resources to uplift others.
- Social Responsibility: Understanding our role in building a better Kenya.
By participating in events like the #SisiKwaSisi walk, our learners receive an invaluable practical lesson in citizenship, empathy, and the power of collective action—core tenets of our Christian values and ethos.
