On 10th October 2025, St. Philip Neri School proudly inaugurated its new Sports Complex, a milestone that reflects the school’s commitment to excellence in athletics, wellness, and holistic education. The event unfolded in spectacular style, with celebrated comedian and influencer Eric Omondi energizing the crowd as the Master of Ceremonies, keeping spirits high and laughter constant throughout the day.
The highlight of the ceremony was the official ribbon-cutting conducted by the Slovak Ambassador to Kenya, H.E. Mr. Maroš Mitrík, whose presence underscored the international significance of the project. His remarks emphasized the power of sports in nurturing discipline, unity, and global collaboration.
The newly unveiled complex boasts impressive facilities, including a semi-Olympic size swimming pool, a baby pool for younger learners, and a premium astro-turf football pitch. These amenities position the school as a leading hub for sports training and competitions within the region.
The celebrations continued with vibrant Sports Day activities, where student houses competed in swimming, track events, and football matches—each team displaying passion and sportsmanship. The excitement peaked during the lively Staff vs. Parents matches, a friendly rivalry that created unforgettable moments and strengthened the school community.
Adding a flavorful touch to the festivities, the Home Science Club showcased their culinary talents by preparing delicious snacks, including samosas, smokies, fries, cupcakes, and refreshing drinks. Their creativity and entrepreneurship shone brightly as they served participants at affordable prices.
The event was further honored by the presence of distinguished guests, Mr. Collins Marigiri (Secretary General, Kenya Aquatics) and Mr. Peter Mwangangi (Chairperson, Machakos Aquatics), who applauded the school for investing in quality sports infrastructure that will nurture future champions.
